Using a rooster – the epitome of an early riser – to sell pancakes and omelets is a natural. Using one to promote dinner entrée promotions? That could have easily laid an egg! But with my “Breakfast is just the beginning” theme, we were able to leverage Perkins’ breakfast heritage into other dayparts – using the rooster in unexpected ways, and getting franchisees crowing.
